Introduction

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which involve the deprivation of a person’s liberty for personal or commercial gain.

Human trafficking occurs when a person arranges or facilitates the travel of another person with the intent to exploit them.

Coffee Cup Solutions has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We will implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not take place anywhere in our business or supply chains.

We are also committed to ensuring transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery and human trafficking throughout our supply chains, in line with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers, and business partners. As part of our contracting processes, we will include specific prohibitions against forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour, including slavery or servitude, whether involving adults or children. We expect our suppliers to uphold these same high standards throughout their supply chains.

Statement of Policy

This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including:

  • Employees at all levels

  • Directors and officers

  • Agency workers and seconded workers

  • Volunteers and apprentices

  • Agents, contractors, and external consultants

  • Third-party representatives and business partners

This policy does not form part of any employee’s contract of employment, and we may amend it at any time.

Responsibility for the Policy

The Directors have overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with our legal and ethical obligations and that all individuals under our control adhere to it.

The Office Manager has primary responsibility for:

  • Implementing this policy

  • Monitoring its effectiveness

  • Addressing any queries

  • Auditing internal controls to ensure they effectively counter modern slavery

Management at all levels is responsible for ensuring their teams understand and comply with this policy. They will also ensure that employees receive adequate and regular training on modern slavery risks in supply chains.

This Modern Slavery Policy and Statement is designed for businesses in all countries, especially in the United Kingdom.

Employee Communication & Awareness of This Policy

Training on this policy, including the risks of modern slavery in our supply chains, is provided as part of the induction process for all employees. Updates will be shared via our established internal communication methods.

Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery must be communicated to all suppliers, contractors, and business partners at the outset of any business relationship and reinforced as needed.

Employee Breaches of This Policy

Any employee found in breach of this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct.

We may also terminate our relationships with individuals or organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.

Supplier Requirements

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in our company and supply chains. Coffee Cup Solutions is committed to engaging with stakeholders and suppliers to address the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.

We take a risk-based approach to our contracting processes and continuously review them. We assess whether circumstances warrant specific prohibitions against modern slavery and trafficked labour in our contracts with third parties.

Supplier Audit

As part of our ongoing risk assessment and due diligence processes, we will determine whether supplier audits are necessary to ensure compliance with our anti-slavery and human trafficking policy.

If it is discovered that individuals or organisations working on behalf of Coffee Cup Solutions have breached our anti-slavery and human trafficking commitments, we will take appropriate action.

Depending on the severity of the breach, actions may include immediate termination of the business relationship.
