About the customer

Our client runs a successful fashion brand in the UK. They design and manufacture retail fashion clothing items at their headquarters and they retail directly through their website. They have approximately 30 employees based in Berkshire.

They initially used Google for email services and stored company files on a standalone PC. They faced several potential risks with this setup, including data loss, security vulnerabilities, and inefficiencies in managing their digital resources.

The Challenge

Data Fragmentation: Emails were hosted on Google, and company files were on a standalone PC, leading to disjointed data management.

Security Risks: Storing data on a standalone PC posed significant security risks and potential data loss.

Inefficiency: The existing setup was inefficient, with users having to manage multiple logins and systems.

Limited Access and Collaboration: The standalone PC limited access to company files, reducing the potential for remote work and collaboration.

Manual PC Management: The PCs were not centrally managed, making security updates and software deployments cumbersome and inconsistent.

Our Approach

To address these challenges, Coffee Cup proposed a comprehensive migration and setup plan to bring the client's digital resources under the Microsoft ecosystem.

Email Migration:

• Migrated the company's email from Google to Microsoft 365.

• Utilised specialised tools to ensure a seamless transfer of historic email data to new Microsoft mailboxes.

• Assisted the client in accessing their new mailboxes via Outlook on their PCs.

Data Migration:

• Migrated the company's data from the standalone PC to Microsoft SharePoint.

• Worked with the client to replicate the desired folder and file structure in SharePoint for easy transition.

• Ensured users could access the new files in SharePoint quickly and securely.

PC Management with Intune:

• Set up PCs using Microsoft's Intune for cloud-based management.

• Configured security policies, automated application deployment, and device monitoring.

• Backed up data from end-user PCs, performed factory resets, and set up the devices again via Intune.

• Linked PCs to Microsoft Azure AD for secure and centralised management.

The client transitioned from using Google for emails and a standalone PC for data storage to a fully integrated Microsoft ecosystem. This migration offered several benefits including unified access, enhanced security, efficiency and collaboration and automated management.
