We live in an age of instant gratification, from having a chat face to face on Skype/Facetime to same day delivery on amazon. It’s pretty simple, we like things to be fast. So why should your computer be any different?
Ever have one of those days when you feel like you spend more time waiting for your computer to do things, than actually working?
Luckily a lot of those problems can be fixed with an SSD.
What is an SSD?
I could lie and say it stands for Super Speedy Disk – which sounds good and accurate, but really it stands for Solid State Disk. It’s just a hard drive really but it works in a different way. A typical HDD has a platter and an arm which moves up and down to read the data. In an SSD there are no moving parts (think of it like the SD card you put in your camera).
Need more convincing?
Look at the following video from Asus showing the boot up of a normal drive and an SSD to a useable state.
With the price drastically falling on SSDs now it’s really a worthwhile investment to upgrade your HDD to an SSD – the best thing is we can transfer your computer over to an SSD including all your files as if nothing has changed…until you realise how much faster it really is now.
