The demands on IT organisations have radically increased over the years as environments grow more complex, this trend will continue. Organisations can invest heavily to deliver secure enterprise apps, requiring you to have visibility across all of it. The goal here is to enable and detect issues before they happen, and provide data driven monitoring insights.
This year Citrix acquired uberAgent, a monitoring and endpoint security analytics product, to expand monitoring capabilities and to allow IT organisations to keep up with the pace of expanding and complex environments. uberAgent plays a key role to deliver superior digital employee experiences.
Citrix observability strategy has been designed to deliver monitoring insights to assist in reducing mean time to detect (MTTD), mean time to resolve (MTTR), and improving root cause analysis (RCA). uberAgent can track reliability and performance across multiple Citrix platforms: Application and desktop virtualisation, NetScaler, web and SaaS applications, and integrates with third party data platforms.
uberAgent for VDI
Citrix have announced that uberAgent for VDI will be available to all Universal Hybrid Multi-Cloud, Legacy Universal and Legacy DaaS subscriptions. This also entitles deployment across Citrix VDI and DaaS workloads, as well as Citrix connected endpoints, thus allowing more customers access to deeper observability and insights across their Citrix environments.
Citrix are working to integrate observability capabilities from Citrix Analytics for performance and security into Director, Monitor and uberAgent. Moving forward, Analytics will no longer be a separate component but will become part of the consoles IT teams use every day. This should be fully integrated by mid-2025. This empowers teams with the visibility for all apps and desktops delivered by Citrix across multiple platforms – Windows, MacOS, Linux, Web, and SaaS. uberAgent also has integrations with platforms like Splunk and other SOC and SIEM providers giving a clear picture of your complex environments using solutions you may already have.
When can uberAgent start being delivered?
The uberAgent for VDI will appear in your MyCitrix account from December 2024.
Can you still access your Analytics consoles?
Yes, this will still be available until your next renewal, although many Citrix Analytics performance and security features are available in Director, Monitor and uberAgent.
